Super Bowl
WOW - We sure didn't expect that one, but it was a great game. We went to our uncle and aunt's house in San Dimas.
Caleb was all decked out and ready for the event nevertheless. He enjoyed his pigs and blankets and big screen to watch the game. Thanks Bill and Debbie!

Tis the season...
for illness. I have had a whirlwind of cold viruses and such on and off since Christmas. Unfortunately the last couple of days got worse with the addition of ear "seizures" as I called them. When Jared got home from work yesterday and noted such seizures he suggested I visit the urgent care and lo and behold I finally got my much needed antibiotic. Such things are increasingly difficult to obtain these days so I am very thankful. Funny thing is that Caleb is so used to me blowing my nose that he now grabs tissue, puts it to his nose for a couple seconds and then proceeds to the trash can to throw it away!

Caleb walks!
Although his first steps were technically in Fresno during Christmas he really took off around the new year. A new year and a new skill I guess! At first he could only walk when he had already pulled up on something. It took him a couple of days to learn to stand up on his own which surprised me, I thought it was going to take a while. The process from crawling to walking was so quick once he started taking his first steps. It still amazes me when he comes around the kitchen corner walking instead of crawling.
Christmas
As is tradition, we went down to Fresno for Christmas this year. Jared took the whole week of work between Christmas and New Year's. We had a fantastic time as always. Jared's parents are always great hosts and we love seeing his grandparents as well. Both of his parents (Caleb's great grandparents) live in Fresno. Here are some pics of our holiday. The first is Becki, Jared's hot sister, she is even more attractive without several santa hats on her head.
Here are some pics of Caleb opening presents with g-pa and gramma.

And last but not least, my very sexy husband:

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving this year was bittersweet. One of my favorite traditions is the football game after "super" (super is usually 1pm). Although the past two years I have been unable to participate due to mommy duties, I still really enjoy the time we have there. The sad thing was this year we had all the cousins except for JARED! Usually there is more than one missing but this year everyone showed up, even a surprise visit from Kim who has missed the past several years. Jared had to be in Chicago for work :( Here are some fun pics taken in from of grandma & grandpa Herbert's house.

Fall Party
Every year Nick and Rachael Seedorf host a "fall party" at their lovely home in Lakewood. Although Caleb is in a t-shirt because so cal really doesn't have seasons Rachael did a great job of making up the background.
The great bunch of kids he is with is our "mom's group" which consists of Abby, Elliot, Hallie and Griffin, respectfully and oldest to youngest order.
Caleb's first birthday!
Some serious catch - up to come!
It's been too long. I have all the best excuses in the world for not continuing to keep this up, just ask me! Things are going to change. Stand by and I will catch you up to the Herbert family's happenings.

Milestones
Seriously crazy day. It's like Caleb woke up and decided to start being a "boy" today. I am terrified at what is to come as I am not custom to hanging out with boys and quiet frankly I don't understand them. Right now Caleb is in his crib crying but it is the safest place for him. Just today he decided to start doing pull ups on our kitchen chairs ( I kid you not his feet were not on the floor) as well as move them all across the floor specifically so that he can get into the kitchen. We had the kitchen blocked off by chairs because he started to pull up on a rack that is unstable. I tell him "no" and he turns to me and smiles and does it anyway! He came to hang out with me in our bedroom (where the computer is) and used the cpu unit to pull up and pull Jared's socks off the laundry basket. It's like everywhere he goes now a mess will follow. I am constantly trying to track him down and he is not even walking yet!
